We had a great week at the restaurant including our great exhibition on Thursday night with Jin Yong Art. The works are still on display in the restaurant for anyone who would like to see them and I’ll put up a post during the week all about the night. For now lets have a look back at the weekends menu.
Cream Cheese & Bacon Wontons
The humble wonton is so versatile, it can be made so different with an endless possibility of options. This week we went with a classic combination of cream cheeses and bacon. Rich and creamy with a nice salty hit from the bacon, the balsamic glaze was a great compliment to it.
Beef & Oriental Mushroom Ragu with Creamy Mash & Crispy Onions
This was just one of those great comfort food dishes, a real winter warmer, perfectly suited for the weekend that was in it with the drop in temperatures. The mash was seriously creamy, the beef was soft and delicate with a beautiful texture from the mushrooms complimented by the crispy onions. You could eat a big plate of this and go back for more! I know I did. This was so good it was almost sinful.
Raspberry White Chocolate Green Tea Sponge with Vanilla Ice Cream
Green tea is one of those flavours that can be very versatile and used with many different tastes. The sweet fruit taste from the Raspberry through the sponge was a good pairing to the soft rich ice cream. A nice way to finish off a great meal.
